As you may or may not know, Dwana has spent many thankless hours keeping the legend of her father alive. Her efforts have birthed a museum, state highway, restaurant and now this website that is visited by several thousand fans weekly.

In times like these we need to be reminded of heroes that have stood for right against all odds so that we can have a free country to be proud of. With that said please scroll down to read a personal note from Dwana.

I'm Dwana, the daughter of the late Buford Pusser who was made famous to the public by the popular movie series "Walking Tall". To me, and others who knew Daddy personally, he always was famous. Although he wasn't much on media and publicity, I'm sure he is smiling on this official website.

We are so excited about the upcoming release of Walking Tall. It is expected to release on April 9th, 2004.  Here is an excerpt from chud.com on what Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had to say about Walking Tall.

The Rock: It’s a remake of a very popular film from the 70’s. It’s a true story based on a guy by the name of Buford Pusser, a sheriff in McNary County. This movie is inspired by that because I can’t play or be Buford Pusser. Buford was in his 40’s and white, and I’ve got a great make-up artist… Jeff Dawn, he won the Oscar for T2, he cannot make me look like that. I play a man named Chris Vaughn, it’s a story about one man’s refusal to lay down to corruption and take the law into his own hands, literally. He takes a big stick and does justice the only way he knows how to do it. It comes out in the spring. It’s really an inspiring story.

MGM invited Dwana and family to visit the set located in Vancouver, Canada.  She and her family enjoyed visiting the set meeting Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and other actors.

 “I was very surprised and impressed that "The Rock" was very interested in the real story of my father, Buford Pusser. If things work out I may possibly help promote the new movie. I was very impressed with him not only as actor, but a sincere person.” ---Dwana Pusser

In other news, The 2004 Sheriff Buford Pusser Festival planning is underway and appears to be the biggest and best that has ever been.  Dwana, and the festival committee are working hard to make it an even bigger blast than last years'.
